During the session of Kambo application, you will be advised to drink approximately 2 litres of water (body temperature is best). The next step involves the use of a heated piece of vine, called a tamshi, or incense stick. The end is lit with fire and then blown out. The glowing end will be used to burn the skin superficially. Several points may be applied onto the skin (the number varies from person to person).
The new layer of skin is exposed by gently rubbing the old superficial skin layer off and the Kambo secretion will be applied onto these points.
It has to be taken into account that depending on the skin type and the aftercare these burning marks may be visible for a few months afterward.
